SHEVLIN-CARPENTER GET NEW QUARTERS
Will Occupy Eighth Floor of the
Palace Building in the Spring.

Announcement is made through Thorpe Brothers company that the entire eighth floor of their new Palace Building. Nicollet and Fourth streets. has been leased for a term of years two years to the Shevlin-Carpenter Company for use as its down town office and headquarters. The door space includes room for 80 offices and work will go ahead at once to put this floor of the new building in shape for occupancy by the first of April. Mr. Shevlin in speaking of the move said that the Palace location will be used as the main headquarters of the firm, containing the offices of the company officials. The lumber end of the business will continue in the Lumber Exchange.

Construction on the Palace Building was completed in 1909, An 8 floor addition was planned for 1912, but never built. The Great Minnesota Surplus Store occupied the store front for a few years before the building was demolished 1961.
