Aquatennial Regatta

Another popular attraction for visitors Of the City of Lakes. This Sailboat Regatta on Lake Calhoun is held annually as part of the MINNEAPOLIS AQUATENNIAL

RACING INSTRUCTIONS: Races will be sailed under the latest ILYA rules except as modified as follows:

Assembly signal-Preceded 60 seconds warning horn .White flag hoisted 10 minutes before start
Preparatory signal- Blue flag hoisted 5 minutes before start.
Starting signal- Red flag hoisted at start.

Each signal will be lowered 60 seconds prior to the hoisting of the next signal.ONE gun will be fired with the hoisting Of each signal. On Saturday and Sunday, the order of start will be C, M, Laser. The starting signal of the preceding class will constitute the preparatory signal for the following class. A 30 minute gun will be fired before the first race in the morning and afternoon.

The Blackboard displayed at rear of Judges’ Gun Boat will constitute part of the race instructions. Course Designations will be noted on blackboard on stern of Gun Boat.

Protests must be filed within 30 seconds of the time the Judges’ Gun Boat reaches the dock. Protest forms will be available from the Judges. The decision of the judges is final.

The Finish Line will always be between the Judges Gun Boat and a buoy and shall be crossed heading the same direction as your boat is headed during the last leg of the race.
