All in for the Aquatennial

This year is bigger and better than ever coming as it does on Minnesota’s 100th birthday. It is truly a civic celebration packed with fun for the entire family and one to focus is the attention of the entire nation on our city as a wonderful place in which to enjoy living.

Saturday afternoon July 19th is the date. All the ingredients that make a parade such a thrilling spectacle will be present! Beautiful floats, pretty girls, inspiring band music, precision marching units and laugh provoking clowns!

 

Pre-parade entertainment! Parade Stadium, where the day parade starts will also be the scene of an hour long pre-parade show highlighted by the presence of Vice President Richard Nixon the program will include an outdoor ice review, 100 dancing girls, quarter Midget auto racing with drivers 6 to 12 years old, top TV personalities!

Then the torch light parade! On Wednesday night July 23rd the magic spell will be recast with the dazzling assistance of lights turning the parade route into a veritable fairyland for thousands of spectators.
